ALONG CAME TRI-STATE WIRE ROPE SUPPLY
As Kentuckiana Wire Rope continued to grow in Jeffersonville, IN, Mel recognized an opportunity to enter the Metro-Cincinnati market area, and he founded Tri-State Wire Rope in 1989. Dave Stafford and Tony Baker joined the team shortly thereafter and are still with the company today. Mel’s son, John, also got his start in the field, working in the shop after school and throughout the summers. Tri-State has continued to grow, and in 2010 opened a location in Dayton to better expand the northern market area. Today, these two branches combine to offer the best service in the Tri-State Region.
The Tri-State area is home to a diverse economy. Manufacturing, steel mills, automotive, machining, construction, and river trade all contribute to our portfolio of industries served. Our rigging products have helped shape the skyline with projects including the Great American Tower, Paul Brown Stadium, Great American Ball Park, and TQL Stadium. We have supplied and/or fabricated lifting products used in the assembly of aircraft components, and in military defense products made or assembled locally. We have supplied many tons of wire rope used in the support and operation of any number and any kind of cranes at work here in our region: overhead, mobile, truck, crawler, tower, all-terrain, rough-terrain, barge-mounted. Our hoists and hydraulics have been utilized in the power generation industry. When the Tyler Davison Fountain at Fountain Square was relocated a few years ago, it was our synthetic slings that got the job done. We are proud of our diverse projects.
