Vernon Lifting Products Hosts Propeller Club of Evansville Meeting

Vernon Lifting Products, the Evansville, Indiana location of Fulcrum Lifting, recently had the honor of hosting the Propeller Club of Evansville at our facility. The evening brought together industry professionals for hands-on demonstrations, meaningful discussion, and fellowship centered around the Commercial Marine industry.

A Guided Tour Through Fabrication and Testing

Guests were welcomed into our shop for a behind-the-scenes look at product fabrication and testing. The guided tour highlighted:

• Round Sling Fabrication – showcasing customization capabilities tailored to customer needs.
• Web Sling Production – demonstrating the importance of quality stitching in every sling we produce.
• Wire Rope Assemblies – an overview of the wire rope fabrication process used to create solutions such as wire rope assemblies and face wires.
• 12-Strand Rope Break Testing – illustrating performance benefits of synthetics compared to traditional wire rope in applications like mooring and towing lines.
• Web Sling Break Testing – helping identify precursors to sling failure and reinforcing proper use.

Presentation by John Fireovid

Following the tour, company owner John Fireovid presented on Vernon Lifting Products and Fulcrum Lifting, covering:

• The history of our company and growth over the years.
• Our core values (Integrity, Above & Beyond, Positive Attitude, Team Oriented, and Custoemr Focus), including ongoing support of charitable foundations.
• An overview of our maritime-focused products and services, from wire rope assemblies and pendant lines to mooring and towing ropes, that bring value to Commercial Marine operations across the Midwest.

Dinner and Club Business

The Vernon team, led by Customer Service Manager Greg Eckstein, treated attendees to a classic shrimp boil supper, setting the stage for the association’s evening business meeting.

Club President Alan Fleischmann of Corn Island Shipyard provided meeting notes and updates, including upcoming initiatives and community efforts.

Recognitions and Community Support

Several special acknowledgments were part of the evening:

John Fireovid was recognized with an award for his membership and continued annual hosting of the Propeller Club.
The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville received a donation check from the Propeller Club, reaffirming its commitment to supporting local youth.
