Sling protection is a great option to help prolong the life of your lifting sling investment! The addition of sling protection along with rigging best practices can help extend the life of your sling. Especially in heavy-use applications. Sling protection can also help protect your load from marring. With various materials and construction styles, there is a great option for almost any application.
- Wear Pads are available in various materials such as polyester, nylon, cordura, and Dyneema® (UHMPE). Wear pads are commonly affixed to the sling where it needs extra protection from fatigue or wear. They can also be constructed with hook and loop for easy repositioning.
- Sleeves wrap around the sling to provide all around protection. They can be constructed of polyester, nylon, Cordura, Dyneema® (UHMPE), or Slinguard. They are easily moved when the sling is not under load however they don’t move as the sling is stretched under load.
- LiftGuard Sling Protectors help prevent damage to slings caused by direct contact between the sling and abrasive edges, corners, or protrusions from loads that are being lifted.

LiftGuard Sling Protectors®
Help prevent damage to slings caused by direct contact between the sling and abrasive edges, corners, or protrusions from loads that are being lifted. These versatile magnetic edge protectors can be used with synthetic, wire rope or chain slings. The magnets are recessed so there is no direct contact which reduces the risk of marring of the load.
Available Materials

Cordura
Cordura is resistant to grease, oil, and dirt. When applied as wear pads or sleeves to your sling, it adds great abrasion resistance. The material is often added to the sling during the assembly process. It can be sewn directly into the sling assembly or fashioned into a sleeve that surrounds the sling entirely. The added material is placed in high wear or fatigue areas of the sling.

Cortland DXC Wear Protection
The DXC wear protection from Cortland, is a tightly braided tubular polyester sleeve. It has a proprietary marine polyurethane coating for use in extreme applications. DXC is a great addition to the eye or body of a sling. DXC sleeves can be fabricated to be floating or fixed in place. DXC sleeves cover sling sizes from 1/4″ through 4-1/4″ in diameter. Other sizes and colors are available upon request.

Dyneema® (UHMPE)
Dyneema® (UHMPE) is an extreme protective material that offers superior cut and abrasion resistance. Its woven construction allows it to be very flexible. Recommended to be used in harsh conditions as it is resistant to moisture, mildew, most chemicals, and UV light.

Flat Webbing
Polyester and nylon webbing is a cost effective way of adding wear pads or sleeves to your sling. The material is often added to the sling during the assembly process. It can be sewn directly into the sling assembly or fashioned into a sleeve that surrounds the sling entirely. The added material is placed in high wear or fatigue areas of the sling.

Slinguard
We manufacture Slinguard in house. It is abrasion-resistant and can be fabricated into the eye(s) of a sling or around the body of the sling itself. It is offered in multiple tube diameters ranging from 1 1/2″ to 7″, and lengths up to 12′.
Other Materials Available
We offer a wide variety of brands and materials of sling protection. Other options more popular with wire rope slings consist of edge guards, and rubber hose. Ask your Customer Service Representitive or Product Specialist for any other applications you may need.
