Soft Rope Shackles
Soft shackles can be a good option for replacing traditional metal shackles in appropriate applications. Soft shackles don’t require any tools to open or close when connecting to a load or lashing points. They are much lighter in weight compared to their metal counterparts. Because they are made from HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) rope, they are less likely to cause any blemishes or damage to painted or coated loads.
When selecting a shackle for your application, always ensure the working load limit (WLL) at least meets or exceeds the load for the application. Your shackle WLL should also be comparable to the other rigging hardware and slings being used.
