Fulcrum Lifting supplies a wide variety of cordage useful in various industries and applications. From marine to construction and mining to safety, modern cordage is made with the very latest in technology and materials. The different construction techniques have an influence on the rope’s durability, elongation, and strength.

Cordage Types:
12 Strand: Comprised of a total of 12 strands, the strands are braided together to form the body of the rope. Popular 12 Strand rope materials are Nylon, Polyester, and HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene).
Common Applications include:

  • Mining recovery lines
  • Tow lines
  • Shield hawing lines
  • Hauling line used with drones
  • Replacement for wire rope
  • Vessel mooring lines
  • Inland river barge lines
  • Lifting slings
  • Utility winch and pulling lines
  • Tug vessel assist lines

Double Braid: Also recognized as “braid on braid” or “marine rope” is constructed with a braided core. The braided core has a braided sheath, making it a rope within a rope. The double-braid construction helps distribute the load among both braids. Popular Double Braid rope materials are Nylon, Polyester, and HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene).
Common Applications include:

  • Anchor lines
  • Mooring lines
  • Towlines

3-Strand: A “laid” or “twisted” construction that differs from the above-mentioned braided constructions. The 3-Strand rope is generally the most universal rope produced. Popular 3-Strand rope materials are Manila, Nylon, Polyester, Polydac, and Polypropylene.
