WHERE KENTUCKIANA WIRE ROPE AND SUPPLY CAME FROM
Kentuckiana Wire Rope and Supply was founded in 1981 by Mel Fireovid and Ed Elliott. Both men had worked for The Crosby Group and saw a need for a rigging shop to serve Metro-Louisville and the surrounding region. Building a hard-working team with a focus on customer needs and quality products, the business has flourished from its humble beginnings.
In order to better serve our customers’ needs, diverse product lines and service offerings have been added through the years: Lifting and rigging gear inspection; load-testing; product- training; Enerpac hydraulics; hoist and hydraulic repairs; synthetic rope and sling fabrication. We have the experience and the expertise to execute when called upon by our customers.
Our products, services, and expertise serve a wide variety of industries in the Kentuckiana Region. We are proud to be a provider for many automotive and steel manufacturing facilities – for heavy construction concerns – for power generation plants – for trucking and marine industries. Our products have been used in the construction of roads and bridges, including the Abraham Lincoln Bridge and the Lewis & Clark Bridge. Our wire rope and rigging products are utilized in Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities power plants …..in the building of iconic sites such as the Yum! Center, Churchill Downs, and Cardinal Stadium…..and aid in the lifting operations of the region’s locks and dam systems. We take pride in these and many other projects.
